If after some investigation, you find this is not the problem, could you provide the SVG file? There could be other reasons for this, and it's hard to tell what are the elements involved by the screenshots. Actually I'm not sure if these settings affect new node placement, but I think the click/drag one does. There you can change the click/drag sensitivity, and grab sensitivity.
Assuming this is your problem, you could also check Inkscape Preferences > Mouse. Then I select the segment where I want to add new nodes, then double-click to create the new node.Įven with these precautions, it can still be hard to add a new node at a precise intersection.
The more I zoom, the closer to the intersection I can place the new nodes. This addition will be helpful to illustrate that the image has a white background.
